Cohen Vaughan’s OSHA practice group provides prompt and critical representation to companies in need of guidance with occupational safety and health law issues.

Most commonly, this guidance includes the management of OSHA inspections for employers. Our attorneys provide immediate assistance, presenting on-site for inspections, especially after catastrophic or fatal accidents. We help employers navigate the often confusing and complicated inspection process, at a time of emotional vulnerability, in order to vigorously protect an employer’s rights and prevent against investigatory overreach.

Our attorneys represent employers during the inspection and investigation process, which oftentimes occurs over several months. We then assist with any citations which are issued, negotiating with OSHA and Department of Labor attorneys for the withdrawal or reclassification of citations. We place particular emphasis on understanding the nature of an employer’s business, and how citations could have an impact on the ability to conduct future business. With this knowledge, our attorneys are able to more effectively strategize the handling of inspections and their aftermath.

In addition, our attorneys provide our clients with regular updates on new or proposed regulatory requirements and industry news, in order to provide our clients with the necessary knowledge to mitigate against potential inspections and citations.
