Cory is a Partner who focuses his practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claims, with significant experience both in general and appellate litigation.  He has experience handling trials at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board, including lay and medical testimony on all issues of controversy, entitlement to indemnity or medical benefits, and fraud issues. Cory also has extensive appeals experience, including appeals before the Board, the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department, and the New York Court of Appeals, which allows him to handle claims not only from inception through trial, but also beyond.  This breadth of experience allows Cory to more effectively handle claims and bring about their closure in the most cost-effective manner. 

Prior to entering private practice, Cory clerked for the New York State Appellate Division, Fourth Department.  He has extensive experience analyzing and writing about the latest rulings, developments, and trends impacting the defense of workers’ compensation claims.  For his experience and reputation, Cory was named an Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2014-2023.
