Danni’s practice focuses on the defense of insurance companies, employers, general contractors, school boards, first responders, correctional officers, and more, in litigation involving workers’ compensation matters.
Aside from her handling of workers’ compensation matters before the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims (OJCC), Danni is also an experienced and successful workers’ compensation appellate lawyer. She has briefed and presented oral argument in the First District Court of Appeals on many occasions, with a high rate of success, resulting in numerous published appellate opinions. Of particular note, Danni represented the Osceola County School Board on appeal, successfully arguing for reversal of the Judge of Compensation Claims award of benefits to a claimant. The appeal resulted in an issue of first impression and the definition of the phrase “initial provision of benefits,” which is widely used and cited in legal authority. Additionally, Danni also successfully represented the City of Orlando before the Judge of Compensation Claims and then on appeal that the claimant’s illness was not an “occupational disease” nor suffered in the line of duty, resulting in important legal authority on this issue.
