Serena is a Partner who handles the defense of workers’ compensation claims, representing clients all across the state of New York. She works primarily with employers in the retail and hospitality industries, as well as with insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
Throughout her career, Serena has been successful in obtaining multiple findings of section 114-a violations. She was able to obtain permanent disqualifications to future indemnity benefits, after proving the claimant made material misrepresentations in order to obtain workers’ compensation benefits, greatly saving her clients money.
During law school, Serena gained hands-on legal experience through internships with the New York State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Haendiges, and the Erie County District Attorney office on a matters of domestic violence. She also interned in the Regional Counsel at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo, New York.
